ActiveCampaign AI integration for campaigns, automations and Deals
Active Intelligence is ActiveCampaign's own AI. We connect Claude to the same account through ActiveCampaign's remote MCP server or API v3, for the checks and drafts your rules define. Our default: every campaign send waits for a person's confirm.
How does an ActiveCampaign AI integration work?
An ActiveCampaign AI integration from AILoopwise connects Claude through ActiveCampaign's remote MCP server, added with the server URL from Settings, Developer, or through API v3 and webhooks. Claude reads segments, campaigns, automations and Deals, and leaves reviews and drafts. Through the MCP server, sends run through prepare_campaign_send and confirm_campaign_send, so a person approves each one.
Where things stand
- As of 2026-11-04, ActiveCampaign's MCP docs split campaign send and schedule into prepare and confirm tools, and say prepare_campaign_send never sends anything on its own.4
- As of 2026-11-04, Claude's directory lists an ActiveCampaign connector made by ActiveCampaign with 32 tools; ActiveCampaign's developer docs describe 90 core tools plus 306 API catalog tools.7,4
- ActiveCampaign's release of 2025-10-21 opened Active Intelligence to all plans; on 2026-11-04 its pricing page gave Starter and Plus limited access to the Active Intelligence workspace.1,17
- As of 2026-11-04, ActiveCampaign's API allows 5 requests per second per account and answers excess calls with Too Many Requests and a Retry-After header.5
What we work on in ActiveCampaign
Active Intelligence
ActiveCampaign's AI. Its agents build segments from plain language, goals from prompts and forms from one sentence; Brand Kit and Memory keep your tone and standing rules.
Recommended for you and the Weekly review already propose next moves inside the account.
Email Marketing and the AI Campaign Builder
ActiveCampaign's campaigns. The AI Campaign Builder writes layout, content, subject lines and images from a prompt; Predictive Sending times each send per contact.
A second read before the send: every link opened, every merge tag matched to a custom field, claims checked against your Brand Kit.
Marketing Automation and the automation builder
Multi-step automations built from triggers, actions, waits, split and conditional actions and goals, with prebuilt automation recipes and an AI-powered automation builder on every plan.
Explaining what an inherited automation does, and where contacts stall or goals never fire.
Segments, lists and tags
A list is what a form's Subscribes to a list action adds a contact to; a segment stores conditions in groups joined by and or or.
Restating a segment Active Intelligence built from a sentence: who is in, who is out, and why.
Deals and sales automation
ActiveCampaign's CRM: Deals in pipelines with custom stages, deal tasks, lead scoring and sales automation for deal creation and assignment; its AI scores deals and leads.
Turning campaign clicks into a Deal note and a task for the owner, and flagging open Deals whose stage contradicts recent activity.
WhatsApp and SMS
WhatsApp is native in ActiveCampaign: templates are created, submitted and managed in the platform, and conversations sit in a Unified Inbox. SMS is a separate add-on.
Drafting template text and inbox replies for the agent to edit.
Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics sync
Premium CRM integrations built by ActiveCampaign, both bi-directional. The Salesforce sync sends marketing qualified leads to Salesforce and new leads and contacts back.
Checking that a lead handed to sales carries the fields sales asked for, before the hand-off.
Where AI helps in ActiveCampaign
Segment check before a send
SegmentListTagContact
- When
- A marketer picks a segment for a campaign, often one Active Intelligence built from a sentence
- Reads
- the segment's conditions, condition groups and operator, plus sample contacts with tags and lists
- AI
- restates each condition in plain words and names who is in or out because of which field or tag
- Result
- an in-and-out list on the campaign brief; no contact is added or removed
- Approved by
- the marketing manager who owns the campaign12,1,4
Campaign review before prepare_campaign_send
CampaignMessageCustom fieldBrand Kit
- When
- A campaign draft is ready, written by a person, by the AI Campaign Builder or with generate_campaign
- Reads
- the message, its tracked links, the custom fields its merge tags point to, and your Brand Kit notes
- AI
- opens every link, matches each merge tag to a field, and flags claims and tone your rules exclude
- Result
- a review note; only a clean draft gets a prepare_campaign_send summary, which sends nothing
- Approved by
- the marketing lead, who approves the summary before confirm_campaign_send runs4,19,18
Automation audit
AutomationAutomation blockContact automationGoal
- When
- Monthly, or before someone edits an automation built from a recipe long ago
- Reads
- each automation's blocks, and per contact the status, entry date and last block reached
- AI
- finds contacts in progress long past every wait, goals nobody reaches and branches nobody enters, each in one sentence
- Result
- an audit list per automation with a proposed fix; the builder is not touched
- Approved by
- the marketing operations owner11,10,20
Deal note and task from a pricing click
ContactDealDeal noteDeal task
- When
- A contact on an open Deal clicks a pricing link, and the click webhook delivers the link URL
- Reads
- the contact's open Deals with stage and owner, and the activity feed, which separates clicks from mail privacy proxy fetches
- AI
- ignores proxy fetches, then summarises what was clicked and where the Deal stands
- Result
- a Deal note and a deal task for the next working day, assigned to the Deal owner
- Approved by
- the Deal owner, who decides whether to follow up8,9,22,4
Custom field and tag clean-up
Custom fieldField valueTagList
- When
- Quarterly, or before a new form or Salesforce field mapping is added
- Reads
- every custom field with its stored values, and every tag with the contacts carrying it
- AI
- groups near-duplicate fields and tags, names fields with no values, and proposes a surviving name per group
- Result
- a merge and retire list; nothing is renamed or deleted by the build
- Approved by
- the ActiveCampaign account admin4,16
How we connect
ActiveCampaign leaves three ways in for AI. Your plan, and who starts the work, decide which fits.
| Route | What it is | Fits when | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Built inActive Intelligence | ActiveCampaign's own agents: segments from plain language, goals from prompts, forms from one sentence, personalised email content, Recommended for you and the Weekly review. | the person who will use the segment, form or email builds it inside ActiveCampaign | limited workspace access on Starter and Plus; generative AI is not listed for Starter.1,18,17 |
| Vendor MCPActiveCampaign remote MCP server (Claude connector) | Made by ActiveCampaign. Added in Claude under Customize, then Connectors, with the MCP server URL from Settings, Developer. | a marketer asks about results, drafts a campaign or reviews an automation from a chat | a corporate Claude account's admin sets it up and approves it; the directory showed 32 tools, so check what your connection exposes.2,3,4,7 |
| API buildAPI v3 build on webhooks | Our service hears webhooks such as click, deal_update or sms_reply, calls Claude and writes back notes, tasks or a review, under a dedicated user's API key. | the check or follow-up starts on an event, with nobody opening a chat | 5 requests per second per account; webhooks are never retried.5,6,8 |
Active Intelligence already builds segments, forms and email content, keeps your Brand Kit, and sends a Weekly review. If your plan has full workspace access and those drafts are what you send, Active Intelligence is enough, and we will tell you not to build. A marketer who only asks questions needs just the connector. A Claude build earns its place as the second read before prepare_campaign_send, as an audit of automations nobody remembers building, and where a click must lead to a Deal note or a Salesforce hand-off on its own trigger.
AILoopwise is Certified in the Claude Partner Network.
Is this a fit?
A good fit
- Marketing teams that send weekly and want segments, links and merge tags read before each confirm
- Accounts whose automations were built from recipes by people who have moved on
- Teams with the Pipelines add-on who want pricing clicks turned into tasks for the Deal owner
- Enterprise accounts syncing to Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics that want lead hand-offs checked
Not a fit
- A team that wants campaigns sent with nobody confirming them; we do not build that
- Jobs that must touch every contact within minutes: 5 requests per second per account makes them slow
- One marketer who only wants answers in a chat: the connector covers that
Limits and data handling
- The API allows 5 requests per second per account, shared by every integration on the account; beyond it the API answers Too Many Requests with a Retry-After header.5
- Webhooks are never retried and may arrive twice, so the build drops duplicates and reads the activity feed daily to catch up.8,9
- Campaigns sent by automations or as autoresponders trigger no webhooks; their clicks are read from the activity feed, which reports no opens.8,9
- The MCP API catalog exposes read and create, not update or delete, so fixes to segments and fields are made by a person in ActiveCampaign.4
- Each ActiveCampaign user has their own API key, so the build runs as a dedicated user with only the access its job needs.6
We agree with you, per project, where each part of the system runs and who can access the data, typically inside your own systems and accounts. When we use Claude through Anthropic's API, the model call runs at Anthropic and is governed by contract.
How a project runs
- 01
Find the loop We sit with your team and list the work that comes back every week. Then we pick the loop that costs the most hours.
- 02
Map it Every step, every tool, every decision: where the inquiry lands, who touches it, what they look up, where the time goes.
- 03
Build the agents Each step gets an agent with the skills to do it inside your tools. One reads and sorts every inquiry, one logs it in the CRM, one pulls up the customer's history, one drafts the reply and the follow-ups.
- 04
Add the checkers A second set of agents checks every result: wrong data, a duplicate, a missed follow-up. Anything unclear goes to a person.
- 05
Close the loop The loop runs. Your team approves, handles the exceptions and talks to the customer.
Step 2 settles which ActiveCampaign user the build runs as, and who approves each prepare_campaign_send summary.
Questions about ActiveCampaign
- What AI features does ActiveCampaign have?
- ActiveCampaign's AI features sit under Active Intelligence: segments from plain language, goals from prompts, forms from one sentence, the AI Campaign Builder, Brand Kit, Predictive Sending, Recommended for you and a Weekly review. The CRM's AI scores deals and leads. Starter and Plus get limited workspace access.
- What are ActiveCampaign AI agents?
- They are the agents inside Active Intelligence, open to all plans since 2025-10-21. They build segments from a description, create goals, personalise email content and generate forms; at launch some were beta, unnamed. They work inside the account; a Claude build adds a second read and steps a webhook starts.
- Is there an ActiveCampaign Claude integration or connector?
- Yes. Claude's directory lists an ActiveCampaign connector made by ActiveCampaign. You add it in Claude under Customize, then Connectors, and paste the MCP server URL from Settings, Developer in ActiveCampaign. On a corporate Claude account the admin sets it up and approves it first. On 2026-11-04 the listing showed 32 tools.
- Does ActiveCampaign have an MCP server?
- Yes, a remote MCP server announced on 2025-10-21. Its developer docs name Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor as clients and list 90 core tools for contacts, lists, campaigns, automations, Deals and custom objects, plus 306 API catalog tools that read and create but never update or delete.
- Can Claude send ActiveCampaign campaigns by itself?
- Not through the documented MCP tools. prepare_campaign_send runs pre-send checks and returns a summary; it never sends. confirm_campaign_send sends only after the user explicitly approves that summary, and scheduling works the same way. By default our builds keep that gate and add a review pass before the summary is prepared.
- What do the AI Campaign Builder and AI Brand Kit do?
- The AI Campaign Builder starts an email campaign from an everyday-language prompt and writes layout, content, subject lines and images. Active Intelligence builds from your Brand Kit, which holds brand colours and tone; Memory keeps standing rules. Claude reads the finished draft against the same notes before anyone confirms.
- ActiveCampaign lists vs segments: what is the difference?
- A list is something a contact joins; a form's Subscribes to a list action adds them, with double opt-in on by default. A segment is a saved set of conditions on contact data, in groups joined by and or or. Active Intelligence can build one from a sentence; Claude restates it so you see who it includes.
- Does the ActiveCampaign WhatsApp integration work with AI?
- WhatsApp is native in ActiveCampaign, with templates, a Unified Inbox and automations; ActiveCampaign's own pages differ on which plans include it. The MCP catalog has an SMS & WhatsApp group. Claude drafts replies and template text; by default, a person sends them.
